Ab dem 08.11.2021, 10 Uhr japanische Zeit treten folgende Lockerungen der Einreiserestriktionen in Kraft:

1. Lockerungen für Visums-Beantragungen

Möglich für folgende Einreisezwecke: 

•       Kurzzeitaufenthalte (Temporary Visitor) für Business bzw. Arbeit
•       Langzeitaufenthalte mit Certificate of Eligibility CoE (Arbeitsvisa, Studierende, Trainees, etc.)

Voraussetzungen:

Ein Visum muss weiterhin im Voraus beantragt werden. Dazu muss der Bürge in Japan (Arbeitgeber, Universität, Geschäftspartner etc.) beim für die Tätigkeit/Branche zuständigen Ministerium (z.B. MEXT, METI, etc.) im Voraus ein „Certificate of Review“ 「審査済証」(shinsazumi sho) einholen.
Mittels dieses Dokuments kann ein Visum in den japanischen Auslandsvertretungen beantragt werden.
 

2. Lockerung der Quarantänebestimmungen

Es besteht unter bestimmten Voraussetzungen die Möglichkeit, die 14-tägige Quarantäne auf 3 Tage zu verkürzen.

Möglich für folgende Personengruppen:

•       Alle Einreisenden, die sich vor Einreise nach Japan mindestens 14 Tage in Ländern aufgehalten haben, die nicht von der japanischen Regierung als Virusvariantengebiet Kategorie 1 oder 2 eingestuft wurden.
•       Personen mit Kurzzeitaufenthalt zu Arbeits- und Businesszwecken oder Langzeitaufenthalt, die zuvor eine Genehmigung durch das für die Tätigkeit/Branche zuständige Ministerium (z.B. MEXT, METI, etc.) erhalten haben. Dies schließt auch japanische Staatsangehörige, sowie ausländische Staatsangehörige mit Residence-Status in Japan und gültiger Re-entry permit ein.

Voraussetzungen:

•       Vollständige Impfung (14 Tage ab 2. Impfung; anerkannte Impfstoffe: BioNTech / Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Moderna, inkl. Kreuzimpfungen)
•       Eine zuvor durch den Bürgen in Japan erhaltene Genehmigung vom für die Aktivität/Branche zuständigen Ministerium (z.B. MEXT, METI, etc.)
•       Ein erneuter negativer PCR-Test oder Quantitativer Antigentest (CLEIA) am 3. Tag der Quarantäne, der an das Health Monitoring Center for Overseas Entrants (HCO) weitergeleitet werden muss.
 

Zusätzliche Bedingung:

•       Sofern die oben genannten Voraussetzungen erfüllt wurden, darf ab dem 4. Tag die Quarantäne verlassen werden. Jedoch muss man sich bis zum Ablauf der eigentlich insgesamt 14 Tage an einen zuvor durch den Bürgen beim zuständigen Ministerium eingereichten Aktivitätsplan halten.

Relaxation of entry restrictions

From 08.11.2021, 10am Japan time, the following relaxations of entry restrictions will come into effect:
 

1. Relaxations for visa applications

 

Possible for the following entry purposes:

• Short-term stays (Temporary Visitor) for business or work purposes
• Long-term stays with Certificate of Eligibility CoE (work visas, students, trainees, etc.).
• Requirements:
• A visa must still be applied for in advance. For this purpose, the sponsor in Japan (employer, university, business partner, etc.) must obtain a "Certificate of Review" 「審査済証」(shinsazumi sho) in advance from the ministry responsible for the activity/industry (e.g. MEXT, METI, etc.).
• This document can be used to apply for a visa at Japanese missions abroad.

 

2. Relaxation of quarantine regulations

It is possible to shorten the 14-day quarantine to 3 days under certain conditions.

Possible for the following groups of persons:

• All entrants who have stayed for at least 14 days before entering Japan in countries that have not been classified by the Japanese government as virus variant area category 1 or 2.
• Persons with short-term stay for work and business purposes or long-term stay who have received prior approval from the ministry responsible for the activity/industry (e.g. MEXT, METI, etc.). This includes Japanese nationals, as well as foreign nationals with residency status in Japan and valid re-entry permit.
• Requirements:
• Complete vaccination (14 days from 2nd vaccination; recognised vaccines: BioNTech / Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Moderna, incl. cross-vaccinations).
• An approval previously obtained by the guarantor in Japan from the ministry responsible for the activity/industry (e.g. MEXT, METI, etc.)
• A negative PCR test or Quantitative Antigen Test (CLEIA) on the 3rd day of quarantine to be forwarded to the Health Monitoring Center for Overseas Entrants (HCO).

Additional condition:

• Provided the above requirements have been met, it is allowed to leave quarantine from the 4th day. However, until the expiry of the actual total of 14 days, one must adhere to an activity plan previously submitted by the guarantor to the responsible ministry.
